Thinking About the Toilet Too Much

It has occurred to me that as wives and mothers, we typically have the thought to ourselves, mostly quiet, but occasionally out loud…”Geez, I need to clean the toilet!”

Now, I know some of you are thinking, “Not me! I clean every Saturday!” And others may be thinking, “My cleaning lady does that!” Very nice.

Yes, well I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to those, who are barely making it through the day that is filled with diapers, fighting through getting a child dressed, being late to everything, screaming, “Go, brush your teeth!” You make it to bed every night by a single stitch. You know who you are… this is for you.

I seriously want you to count how many timesthe thought, “ I need to clean the toilet!” goes through your head every day. You probably never noticed, but I bet the number is significant.

If you have found yourself thinking…”Wow! That is true! I do think about that pretty frequently! I never knew!” Then, I am here to encourage you! There is help coming! Keep hope! The solution is just a sheer moment away!

The diapers will go. The children will dress themselves. They will learn to drive. They, most likely, will even volunteer to brush their own teeth without you asking, and then they will be gone.

The thought, “I need to clean the toilet!” will not go. It will stay. You will think it. And then. And then. You will go clean it.

Have a blessed day mamas. I’ll be thinking about you!

A New Beginning

It all began with and idea, hundreds of them, constantly running through my head.

I have always been an “idea” person. I never had any trouble contributing ideas for projects over the period of my life. I have, however, had a problem with bringing the ideas to fruition.

So, what do I have in my head?? Books! Paintings! Lifestyles! Experiments! Dances! Sewing! Crocheting! Being a hermit, who lives deep in the woods in a special location (in my brain) and reading all of the books that I have wanted to read and writing the ones that I have stuck inside me. I know…it sounds a little crazy.

My ideas until this point have been just that. As a young mother, I was occupied by three little ones that kept me busy with all of the things: diapers, meals, illnesses, breaks, school, etc. And, YES, we also had more than our share of wonderful meals, parties, friends, wandering, playing, and creating. I eventually gained two more children through marriage and finally, a sixth that wrapped up my family perfectly! Now, the six have moved on and given me, so far, nine amazing grandchildren.

Now, my brain still wanders. It still desires to adventure and to dream. I am still entirely filled with ideas. The difference is that this time, I will find the time to apply to bringing my visions to fruition!

I have begun with this blog, this website and with all of the things that will follow. I hope that you will join me in celebrating my ideas and my efforts which benefit children in a way that brings light to their natural ability to be amazing.

Let’s begin with the most valued citizens in our population, children!
